Synopsis:
FEIN was born a Halfling girl. The child of a wolfwalker and a Daughter
of the Grove, she is part of two worlds, belonging to neither. By the age of
sixteen years, she should be able to cast away her woman’s form and let the wolf come forward. She is marked as different from the rest of her Clan, until ULFIR sinks his fangs into her, triggering
her first Change. Fein is sent away from home for the first time, and with her
brother RUA, she is cast into the world where true dangers lurk.
Kidnapped by traveling men, Rua and Fein
eventually part ways. Fein struggles to find morality when the call of the wolf
demands immoral actions. When she returns home, she finds her father has died
and Ulfir has taken his place as Chieftain. Although her father’s death
leaves Ulfir under high suspicion, threat from outside the Clan brings Fein and Ulfir together. When the wolf’s demands must be heeded, can a Halfling girl do what must be done?
